These brilliantly colored lead crystal cordial (liqueur) glasses were hand-crafted in Germany by the nearly two century old luxury German glassware maker Nachtmann Bavarian Crystal. These Traube pattern glasses have bowls artfully fashioned in colored glass cut into clear glass in a decorative design of grapes, grape leaves, stars and fans with stems and bases of clear crystal. First introduced more than 75 years ago, the color glass versions of Traube glassware became especially popular although clear glass versions were also available. Today, Nachtmann continues to produce Traube in hock wine and tumbler styles while the other glass styles in the line have been retired, making vintage cordial glasses from the collection ever more sought after. This distinctive pair of glasses date to the early 1960's era and consists of ONE Amber colored cordial AND ONE Cobalt Blue colored cordial. Dimensions: 4.5 in tall; 1.75 in wide (at the base). What a beautiful way to serve liqueur . and a wonderful addition to a collection of vintage glassware and barware! Nachtmann also produced this particular glass in other colors and collectors often collect a selection of colors. History of the maker: Nachtmann Crystal AG was founded in the Bavarian Forest in 1834 as an affordable luxury glassware maker, and relocated to Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Germany in 1900. Since 2004, it has belonged to the Riedel family of brands, although it has continued to operate independently since then.
