Inside is glass, and is nice and clean, the outside is metal with scuff marks and signs of age and use. No dents or fading on floral design, a scratch in the plastic on the handle. Overall a nice item, not perfect but shabby fun! The base spins on a swivel like a lazy susan and is maybe loose or just wobbly, doesn't affect anything. Bottom says a lot of Japanese wording and a sticker "Tundra Japan" The Zojirushi company has been in business for 90 years.
