It has been said many times, “It’s not what you know that counts, it’s who you know.” We prefer to think, “It's what you know AND who you know, that really counts.” Fortunately for us, owner Gary Fisch knows a lot about great wine, and he seems to know everybody in the California wine industry. Plus, his talent at striking a great deal is legendary. For the Go Figure series, Gary began sourcing wines crafted by industry-leading winemakers who had a little extra left over from their own bottling. The results are stellar wines, hand-selected by Gary and team at significantly lower prices than at the winery itself. Each series gets their own “Lot Number”. While we cannot display publicly where these wines were sourced, just ask one of our team members to let you in on the secret. Go Figure Lot 82 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot with grapes harvested from the coveted and exclusive Knights Valley AVA in Sonoma County. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 20 months in neutral French Oak barrels. The savory and aromatic qualities of this Cabernet pair perfectly with aged beef, Tuscan-style ribs finished with sweet balsamic, or coffee rubbed T-Bone steak. Great vegetarian options include mushroom ravioli.
