A matcha accessories set like no other - every piece is hand made in Japan by artisan craftspeople with centuries of tradition. Chasen (Matcha Whisk) and Matcha Scoop (Chashaku) by 翠華園 from Nara, Japan Suikaen (翠華園) - 500 years (25th generation) Chasen family. The bamboo of these chasens are kept in a warehouse more than two years to remove the moisture naturally before being crafted . No chemicals are added in the process. Made with Bamboo grown on site at Suikaen, the alpine climate in Nara is suitable for the production of high quality tea whisks.Carefully selected bamboo from the Kinki region is dried in the sun in the fields from January to February under the cold weather where the temperature drops to nearly 0°C at night. The difference in temperature between day and night causes the bamboo to harden and become a material for high-quality tea whisks. This process takes over a month. Each of these carefully crafted Chasen are made by hand. We hope you enjoy this special product to pair with your matcha experience. Carefully soak chasen in hot water before use. Clean gently with warm water to remove matcha residue. Dry carefully using a Kusenaoshi after use to maintain the chasen shape.  Chasen Rest (Kusenaoshi), from Nara, Japan Made in Japan. Use the Chasen Rest (Kusenaoshi) to help maintain the shape of your Chasen after use. Matcha Sieve from Tsubame City (燕市), Niigata Prefecture, Japan The Tsubame artisan made matcha sieve helps break up the matcha in the preparation process. Can also be used as a loose leaf tea strainer. High quality stainless steel that is rust resistant.  Tsubame City is a historical region known for its production of Japanese nails and craft tools, dated back 400 years during the Edo Period. Tsubame City is famous both domestically and internationally for its high quality kitchenware.
